We Got Lost.
We Liked It.

It started with a small dome tent, a fire permit and the kind of optimism that comes from never having tried to keep two kids entertained for a week in a paddock without Wi-Fi.

We survived. More than that — we loved it. Something shifts when you take the routine away and replace it with stars, red dirt, and the quiet realisation that most of what you thought you needed, you don't.

The tent became a camper trailer. The camper trailer became our Mars 15 Elite full off-road hybrid caravan — built for the remote tracks we kept finding ourselves drawn to. And in 2025 we finally did the trip we'd talked about for years: the Big Lap. Fourteen weeks on the road. Kakadu to Litchfield. The Gibb River Road. The Ningaloo Coast. All of it.

Why the blog?

Because when we were starting out, the information online was either too vague or too aspirational. We wanted someone to tell us about the flies at Devils Marbles. Whether a camper trailer could handle the Gibb. What a flying ant swarm actually looks like at 6pm in the Northern Territory.

That's what this blog is. Real stuff. Honest reviews. The good, the ugly, and the genuinely magnificent.
